Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Pinheiros (9-6) edged 11th ranked SKY/Basquete (6-9) in Aldeota 77-74 on Wednesday. Quite impressive performance for American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. The former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SKY/Basquete. SKY/Basquete's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pinheiros moved-up to fifth place. Loser SKY/Basquete dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Pinheiros will face higher ranked Universo/Vitoria (#4) in Salvador in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
