Regular Season Round 16: Hapoel B/S - Ironi K-A 79-70

Leader Hapoel B/S delivered the twelfth victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (8-8) 79-70 in Beer Sheva. Hapoel B/S made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a quality performance of swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Hapoel B/S's coach Yaniv Burger used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-92, college: St.John's) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) scored 14 points. Hapoel B/S (12-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Ironi Kiryat Ata keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Maccabi H/H and Hapoel Migd.H.. Hapoel B/S will meet Hap.Haifa (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Galil Elion in Kazrin and hope to secure a win.
