Everything went according to plan in Rio Negro where fourth ranked Alianza Viedma (11-9) edged 7th ranked Gimnasia LP (4-18) 96-93 on Thursday. Alianza Viedma shot 35 for 51 from the free-throw line, while Gimnasia LP only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Gimnasia LP was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Mateo Gaynor (199-90) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (203-93, college: Longwood) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Lisandro Villa (198-87) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Maximiliano Segon (200-91) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests.
