Regular Season Round 23: Obera TC - Independiente BBC 83-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Independiente BBC (6-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Obera TC (6-14) 83-74 on Thursday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Independiente BBC won fourth quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Obera TC dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Independiente BBC's 24. The best player for the winners was guard Martin Gandoy (194-91) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Joaquin Deck (198-92) chipped in 18 points. Point guard Victor Hugo Cajal (179-80, agency: DTMones) produced 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and center Julian Aprea (209-87) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Obera TC. They maintain sixth place with 6-14 record. Newly promoted Independiente BBC keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Obera TC will face league's leader Union SF in Santa Fe in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Independiente BBC will play on the road against the league's leader Union SF (#1) in Santa Fe and hope to win that game.
