Regular Season Round 24: Uppsala - Norrkoping 77-69

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (14-6) against fifth ranked Uppsala Basket (11-8) on Friday night. Visiting Norrkoping Dolphins were defeated by Uppsala Basket in a tough game in Uppsala 69-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Norrkoping Dolphins. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-12. But Norrkoping Dolphins won second period 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Carl Engstrom (216-91, college: Alabama) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Uppsala Basket players scored in double figures. Uppsala Basket's coach Kevin Gaines allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Cole Darling (203-91, college: Wright St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Danish guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points. Uppsala Basket moved-up to fourth place. Norrkoping Dolphins at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Uppsala Basket will play against league's leader BC Lulea on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Norrkoping Dolphins will play against Malbas and hope to get back on the winning track.
