Very important is a home loss of second ranked Sant Adria (12-4) against fourth ranked Cortegada (10-5) on Saturday night. Host Sant Adria was defeated by Cortegada in Sant Adria de Besos 54-42. Cortegada had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Senegalese center Amy Syll (196-93) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Salome Garcia (175-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Cris Hurtado (187-92) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and British guard Eilidh Simpson (170-92, college: St.Francis, NY) added 8 points respectively for lost side. Sant Adria's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Cortegada have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A. Loser Sant Adria keeps the second position with four games lost. Cortegada will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sant Adria will play against GDKO Bizkaia in Galdakao and hope to secure a win.
