Regular Season Round 17: Arenys - Calvia 63-77

There was no surprise in Arenys del Mar where 6th ranked Arenys (7-7) was defeated by second ranked Calvia (10-4) 77-63 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Calvia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Bernardo Garcia (183-92) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). GMBn forward Omar Toure (199-94) produced 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Quim Salvans (187-98) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Calvia keeps a position of Group C-A leader, which they share with Menorca and Martorell. Arenys lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Calvia will face AEC Collblanc (#4) in L´Hospitalet in the next round. Arenys will play on the road against Barna in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
