Regular Season Round 17: Mollet - Pardinyes-L. 76-71

There was a small surprise when third ranked Mollet (11-3) beat at home leader Pardinyes-L. (11-3) 76-71 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in Group C-B. Mollet looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Ramon Espuna (206-84) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Point guard Xavier Costa (192-84) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Javier Mendiburu (197-80) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Ruben Fernandez added 11 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Mollet. They moved-up to second place in Group C-B, which they share with defeated Pardinyes-L. Mollet will face Palma II (#4) in S'Arenal in the next round. Pardinyes-L. will play at home against Sant Adria and hope to win that game.
