Second Stage Round 3: Hitachi Cougars - Haneda Vickies 56-59

A very interesting game took place in Hitachinaka. It ended with only three-point home defeat of Hitachi Cougars (1-2) to Haneda Vickies (3-0) 59-56 on Saturday evening. Hitachi Cougars were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 24-12 third quarter run of Haneda Vickies. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 6 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was guard LiQuan Luohe (165-91) who scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and guard Aya Tsurumi (164-92) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Haneda Vickies' next round opponent will be Toyota B SR (#7) in Aichi. Hitachi Cougars will play on the road against Yamanashi QB and hope to win that game.
