Regular Season Round 33: Shimane SM - Fukushima 75-49

An interesting game for Shimane Magic (24-6) which hosted in Shimane second-best Fukushima (20-11). Third ranked Shimane Magic had an easy win 75-49. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fukushima to just 7 points in second quarter. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 28 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Fukushima 44-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Shimane Magic. They maintain third place with 24-6 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Fukushima lost their third game in a row. They keep the second position with 11 games lost. Shimane Magic's next round opponent will be again league's second-placed Fukushima at home and it will be for sure the game of the week.
