Regular Season Round 17: AEC Collblanc - Mataro 71-63

No shocking result in a game in L´Hospitalet where fourth ranked AEC Collblanc (9-4) defeated 14th ranked Mataro (3-11) 71-63 on Saturday. They outrebounded Mataro 43-29 including 21 on the offensive glass. Mataro was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Ignasi Belver (197-94) chipped in 13 points. Guard Santiago Serrataco (187-90) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for AEC Collblanc. They maintain fourth place in Group C-A with 9-4 record. Newly promoted Mataro keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. AEC Collblanc will face league's leader Calvia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mataro will play against Olivar (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
