Regular Season Round 34: Yokohama BC - Shiga L-Stars 74-72

Date: January 28, 2017
Sixth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-27) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Yokohama BC (12-21). Yokohama BC managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected easier game. It looked good early as Shiga L-Stars took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Yokohama BC had a 19-16 second period charge getting the lead and Shiga L-Stars were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-74. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists by Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. American Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach Tohyama Kohto tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Yokohama BC maintains fifth position with 12-21 record. Shiga L-Stars lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 27 games lost. Yokohama BC will again play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
