Regular Season Round 11: Tokyo Cinq R. - Aisin AW 73-89

The biggest surprise of round 11 in B League D3 was guest Aisin AW's (#5) easy road victory over Tokyo Cinq R. (#6) 89-73 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Aisin AW. Tokyo Cinq R. managed to win fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 40-27 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Tokyo Cinq R. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Ikishima Kazuki (188-94) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. American forward R.J. Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis, agency: Duran International) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aisin AW have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 10-10 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Aisin AW are looking forward to face league's leader Fukuoka Rizing at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Big Blue.
