Regular Season Round 17: Villarrobledo - Rivas 70-65

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Rivas (2-15) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Villarrobledo (8-9) 70-65 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was center Artur Alaminos (205-91) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Javier Gonzalez (189-85) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Villarrobledo maintains tenth place in Group B with 8-9 record. Newly promoted Rivas keeps the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Villarrobledo will face higher ranked Gran Canaria B (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rivas will play against Casvi (#3) and hope to win that game.
