Regular Season Round 33: Aomori Watts - Nishinomiya S. 64-73

Rather predictable result when second ranked Nishinomiya S. (22-9) won against on the road 4th placed Aomori Watts (14-17) 73-64 on Saturday. Aomori Watts were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Nishinomiya S., which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Nishinomiya S.. They used an opportunity after Gunma lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fourth place with 17 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round. Aomori Watts will play again at home against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
