Regular Season Round 17: Quart - Cerdanyola 105-61

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Quart as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group C-B. Quart smashed 10th ranked Cerdalyola at home 105-61. Quart dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Cerdalyola's 28. They outrebounded Cerdalyola 50-31 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Pau Vila (190-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Uruguayan center Brad Kanis (218-83, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Quart players scored in double figures. Guard Genis Tena (186-89) answered with 15 points and guard Albert Salat (191-91) added 13 points in the effort for Cerdalyola. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quart (12-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Cerdalyola lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Castelldefels and Andorra II. Cerdalyola will play next round against Andorra II trying to get back on the winning streak. Quart will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Igualada on the road.
