Very predictable result in San Cristobal where third ranked C.Adelantados (11-4) defeated 9th ranked Picken Claret (6-9) 65-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by C.Adelantados. Picken Claret was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Picken Claret 49-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Aulani Sinclair (186-90, college: Indiana) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four C.Adelantados players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Marta Rabassa (178-94) responded with 17 points (made all of her seven free throws) and center Carla Diaz Polo (185-90) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. C.Adelantados have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group B with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Alcobendas. Loser Picken Claret keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. C.Adelantados will face again Picken Claret (#9) in Valencia in the next round where they are favorite. Picken Claret will play against Batalyaws and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
