Regular Season Round 18: Firenze Enic - Siena Virtus 85-59

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Siena Virtus (6-12) were rolled over on the road by sixteenth ranked Firenze Enic (5-13) 85-59 on Saturday. Firenze Enic made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Firenze Enic outrebounded Siena Virtus 41-17 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81, agency: Players Group) who scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Center Lorenzo Galmarini (200-95) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Firenze Enic players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alessandro Nepi (186-93) who recorded 18 points and guard Gianmarco Olleia (195-93) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Firenze Enic moved-up to fourteenth place in B, which they share with San Vendemiano. Siena Virtus at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Firenze Enic will face higher ranked Varese Robur (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
