Regular Season Round 16: Aalstar - Oostende 84-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Oostende (12-4) on the court of fourth ranked Okapi Aalstar on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Okapi Aalstar 84-69. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Oostende. Okapi Aalstar dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Oostende's 34. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Quincy Taylor (194-82, college: UAB, agency: Diamond Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian guard Dusan Djordjevic (193-83, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Pierre-Antoine Gillet (201-91) added 11 points in the effort for Oostende. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okapi Aalstar (9-8) moved-up to third place. Defending champion Oostende still keeps top position with four games lost. Okapi Aalstar are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leuven Bears (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oostende will play against the league's second-placed Antwerp Giants (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
