Regular Season Round 18: USE Basket - Valsesia 79-74

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Valsesia (10-7) against sixth ranked USE Basket (10-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Valsesia was defeated by USE Basket in a tough game in Empoli 74-79. USE Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Valsesia's 26. They outrebounded Valsesia 39-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Michele Bei (200-90) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Filippo Giannini (180-91) chipped in 19 points. Four USE Basket players scored in double figures. USE Basket's coach Giovanni Bassi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nicolo Gatti (190-91) who recorded 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Mattia Molteni (190-96) added 14 points respectively. USE Basket moved-up to fifth place in B. USE Basket will face league's leader Omegna at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Valsesia will play against Oleggio and hope to win that game.
