Regular Season Round 15: Rapla - Tartu Ulikool 73-79

An interesting game for TU/Rock (14-2) which played road game in Rapla against 3rd placed Rapla (9-4). First ranked TU/Rock managed to get a 6-point victory 79-73. It looked good early as Rapla took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then TU/Rock had a 26-12 second period charge getting the lead and Rapla was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-79. TU/Rock players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Gert Dorbek (193-85) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and international Martin Paasoja (191-93) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for TU/Rock. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Rapla at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. TU/Rock's next round opponent will be Parnu (#4) on the road. Rapla will play against TLU/Kalev and hope to win that game.
