Very predictable result when third ranked Gernika (12-5) won against 12th ranked Zamarat (5-12) in Zamora 69-56. The game was mostly controlled by Gernika. Zamarat was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Croatian forward Antonija Sandric (181-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 13 points. Gernika's coach Mario Lopez used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Montenegrin center Ana Turcinovic-Pocek (190-93) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and Brazilian forward Isabela Lyra (180-94) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gernika. They maintain third place with 12-5 record having four points less than leader Avenida. Zamarat lost their third game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Gernika's next round opponent will be CREF Hola (#13) in Madrid and are hoping to win another game. Zamarat will play on the road against Campus Promete in Logrono and hope to win that game.
