Second Stage Round 3: Rapla KK - Latvija U16 90-52

Date: January 28, 2017
Not a big story in a game when Latvija U16 (0-4) was rolled over on the road by Rapla KK (4-0) 90-52. The game was mostly controlled by Rapla KK. Latvija U16 was better in fourth quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapla KK dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Latvija U16's 32 and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Rapla KK forced 26 Latvija U16 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Latvija U16's players. It was a good game for Estonian guard Pirgit Puu (168-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots). Estonian forward Kerdu Arbet-Lenear (185-80) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Rapla KK players scored in double figures. Forward Laura Meldere (180-1) answered with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ketija Vihmane (169-1) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Latvija U16. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
