Regular Season Round 15: Toulouse - CFBB 56-61

Bottom-ranked CFBB managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of six consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Toulouse 61-56. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Toulouse won second period 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when CFBB won last quarter 16-13. CFBB outrebounded Toulouse 45-20 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Kadiatou Sissoko (180-99) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. CFBB's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Senegalese power forward Oumou Toure (190-88, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Sydney Wallace (173-93, college: Georgia Tech, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points respectively for Toulouse in the defeat. CFBB maintains fourteenth place with 3-12 record. Toulouse lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Montbrison. CFBB will meet higher ranked Bretagne Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toulouse will play against Reims (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
