The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Limoges' (4-11) road loss to tenth ranked Montbrison (6-9) 53-81 on Saturday. The game without a history. Montbrison led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Montbrison outrebounded Limoges 42-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Cameroonian Amina Njonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Tiphaine Melois (170-94) answered with 12 points and 6 assists and guard Emmanuelle Gorjeu (172-89) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Limoges. Montbrison moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Toulouse. Loser Limoges keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Montbrison will face league's leader Avenir in Chartres in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limoges will play at home against COB Calais (#5) and hope to win that game.
