Second Stage Round 3: Toyota A. - Fujitsu RW 64-51

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Fujitsu RW (2-1) in Nagoya on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Toyota A. (2-1) 64-51. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Fujitsu RW managed to win second period 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Fujitsu RW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for forward Mayi Na (181-93) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) contributed with 8 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Toyota A.'s coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) added 8 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Fujitsu RW. Toyota A. is looking forward to face Denso Iris (#6) in Kariya in the next round. Fujitsu RW will play at home against JX-Eneos S. and is hoping to win this game.
