Second Stage Round 3: Mitsubishi K. - Denso Iris 52-50

Important game to mention about took place in Nagoya. Mitsubishi K. (2-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging Denso Iris (0-3) 52-50 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Denso Iris took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mitsubishi K. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Denso Iris to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Mitsubishi K. forced 26 Denso Iris turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Mai Kawai (170-96) helped adding 8 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 27 rebounds and the former international guard Minami Iju (168-90) scored 8 points. Denso Iris' coach Hiroshi Kojima rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi K. will play against Chanson V-M (#5) in Shizuoka in the next round. Denso Iris will play at home against Toyota A. and hope to get finally their first victory.
