Regular Season Round 35: Akita NH - San-en 54-64

Very expected game when 6th ranked Akita Happinets (8-26) were defeated at home by second ranked Sanen Neophoenix (20-14) 64-54 on Sunday. Akita Happinets were trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 24-11 charge of Sanen Neophoenix, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) who scored 17 points. His fellow American import swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St.) produced 7 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sanen Neophoenix maintains second place with 20-14 record having nine points less than leader SeaHorses, which they share with Nagoya DD. Akita Happinets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 26 games lost. Sanen Neophoenix will face Sendai 89ers (#5) at home in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
