Regular Season Round 12: Kronos AD - Niki Lefkadas 41-72

Very expected game when 11th ranked Kronos AD (2-10) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Niki Lefkadas (7-5) 72-41 on Sunday. Niki Lefkadas forced 20 Kronos AD turnovers and outrebounded them 42-22 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Elan Brown (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Czech guard Michaela Stara (175-90) who added 10 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Niki Lefkadas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Maria Avtzi (172-90) with 10 points and 4 steals and the former international guard Aikaterini Spatharou (172-83) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Niki Lefkadas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Panathlitikos. Loser Kronos AD keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Niki Lefkadas will face Panathlitikos (#5) in Thessaloniki in the next round. Kronos AD will play on the road against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) in Ellinikou and hope to win that game.
