Regular Season Round 17: Sant Nicolau - Barna 72-66

There was a minor upset in Sabadell where 10th ranked Barna (6-8) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Sant Nicolau (4-10) 72-66 on Sunday. Barna was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Larry Ewulu (197-92) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Sant Nicolau players scored in double figures. Guard Bartu Martinez (187-91) produced 22 points and forward Borja Ramos (196-81) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sant Nicolau moved-up to twelfth place in Group C-A, which they share with Olivar. Newly promoted Barna keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Sant Nicolau will face higher ranked Castellbisbal (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
