Regular Season Round 19: RETAbet BB - Zaragoza 81-77

Rather predictable result in Bilbao where eleventh ranked RETAbet BB (7-10) beat 13th ranked Zaragoza (6-12) 81-77 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Zaragoza won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for the former international forward Alex Mumbru (202-79, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 assists. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and German forward Robin Benzing (208-89) scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. RETAbet BB moved-up to tenth place. Loser Zaragoza keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with UCAM Murcia. RETAbet BB will meet higher ranked FC Barcelona (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaragoza will play against Sevilla (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
