Everything could happen in Anjo at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Aishin Wings and 11th ranked Niigata R. had identical 1-2 record. This time Aishin Wings used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tokyo 75-60 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-60. Aishin Wings made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Aishin Wings outrebounded Niigata R. 49-27 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Fujiki Sayaka (162-92) who added 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Aishin Wings players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Ayaka Kogure (163-91) responded with 23 points and point guard Rika Oshiro (163-93) scored 14 points. Aishin Wings (2-2) moved-up to ninth place in Places 7-12, which they share with Hitachi Cougars. Loser Niigata R. keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Aishin Wings will face bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (#12) at home in the next round. Niigata R.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Haneda Vickies.
