Regular Season Round 34: Shimane SM - Fukushima 88-65

The game between Top Four teams took place in Shimane. Third ranked host Shimane Magic (25-6) smashed their biggest opponent Fukushima (20-12) 88-65. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 38. Shimane Magic had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Fukushima. Fukushima's coach Tomohiro Moriyama gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Shimane Magic have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 25-6 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Gunma. Fukushima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second place with 12 games lost. Shimane Magic's next round opponent will be league's leader Gunma at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fukushima will play against Tokyo Z and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
