Regular Season Round 35: Nagoya DD - Toshiba BT 68-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. First ranked Toshiba Thunders faced second-ranked Diamond Dolphins. Guests from Kanagawa (29-5) defeated host Diamond Dolphins (20-14) 72-68. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 44-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Toshiba Thunders made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). International point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) helped adding 19 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and international power forward Tenketsu Harimoto (198-92) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-5 record. Loser Diamond Dolphins keep the second position with 14 games lost. They share it with Sanen. Toshiba Thunders will meet at home Ryukyu GK (#5) in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
