Regular Season Round 34: Gunma - Kagawa FA 84-64

B League D2 top team - Gunma (23-9) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Kagawa FA (10-22) 84-64. The game was mostly controlled by Gunma. Kagawa FA was better in third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunma dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 26. Gunma had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gunma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gunma made 7 blocks. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 20 points during the contest. At the losing side Jamaican power forward Adrian Forbes (211-88, college: Auburn, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Taku Bandoh (185-92) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-9 record. Kagawa FA lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 22 games lost. Gunma will face Shimane Magic (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kagawa FA will play against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and hope to win that game.
