Regular Season Round 19: Jesi - Chieti 110-96

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Jesi (9-10) beat at home 13th ranked Chieti (6-12) 110-96 on Sunday. Jesi made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Jesi outrebounded Chieti 35-22 including 20 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory scoring 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Power forward Marco Maganza (204-91) helped adding 18 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Trae Golden (188-91, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 26 points and naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Jesi and five Chieti players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jesi moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Chieti dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Jesi will face league's second-placed Treviso Basket on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chieti will play against Mantova (#5) in Mirandola and hope to win that game.
