Regular Season Round 16: ToPo - Espoo United 95-94

Important game to mention about took place in Helsinki. Third ranked ToPo (11-7) saved a 1-point victory at home edging their biggest opponent Espoo United (13-5) 95-94 on Sunday evening. The hosts were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 25-24 run, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by forward Cedric Latimer (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Espoo United. His fellow American import point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) added 17 points and 11 assists for lost side. Espoo United's coach Ville Neva tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted ToPo maintains third position in Division with 11-7 record having just two points less than leader TuNMKY. Espoo United at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second place with five games lost. ToPo will play against Jyvaskyla BA (#5) on the road in the next round. Espoo United will play against Pyrinto II and hopes to get back on the winning track.
