Regular Season Round 16: Namika Lr - Espoo Basket 73-100

No shocking result in a game in Lappeenranta where third ranked Espoo Basket (13-5) outleveled 13th ranked Namika Lr (2-15) 100-73 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-73. Espoo Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Namika Lr's 36. Espoo Basket forced 26 Namika Lr turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Angolan guard Cesar Carapinha (183-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Joshua Gouch (196-91, college: CS San Bernar.) who added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Espoo Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Anttoni Tapio (193-92) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Namika Lr's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Espoo Basket maintains third position in Division with 13-5 record behind leader TuNMKY. Loser Namika Lr keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Espoo Basket will face league's leader TuNMKY in Turun in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Namika Lr will play on the road against HNMKY U23 (#8) in Helsinki and hope to win that game.
