Regular Season Round 19: Alma Trieste - Verona 68-66

Very expected game when 9th ranked Verona (9-10) was edged on the road by third ranked Alma Trieste (13-6) 68-66 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Verona was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Matteo Da Ros (204-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Javonte Green (193-93, college: Radford, agency: Duran International) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Alma Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Michael Frazier (193-94, college: Florida) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Alma Trieste maintains third place in A2 with 13-6 record behind leader Angelico Biella. Loser Verona dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Alma Trieste will face F.Kontatto BO (#6) in Bologna in the next round. Verona will play at home against Imola (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
