An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Second ranked Tochigi Brex faced 4th placed Hitachi Sunrockers. Guests from Tochigi (25-7) defeated host Hitachi Sunrockers (15-17) 82-78. Tochigi Brex made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tochigi Brex maintains second place with 25-7 record having six points less than leader SeaHorses. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the fourth position with 17 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Osaka Evessa (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
