Regular Season Round 19: Bondi Ferrara - Mantova 95-87

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Bondi Ferrara (7-12) won against at home 4th placed Mantova (11-8) 95-87 on Sunday. Bondi Ferrara dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mantova's 32 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Bondi Ferrara had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American Terrence Roderick (196-88, college: UAB) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Laurence Bowers (203-90, college: Missouri) helped adding 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bondi Ferrara players scored in double figures. At the losing side American LaMarshall Corbett (189-88, college: Angelo St.) responded with 34 points (!!!) and swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) scored 17 points. Bondi Ferrara moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Mantova dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Bondi Ferrara will face league's leader Virtus Bologna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mantova will play against Chieti (#14) and hope to win that game.
