Regular Season Round 16: Oulun NMKY - Porvoon Tarmo 80-59

Date: January 29, 2017
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (7-10) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Oulun NMKY (11-8) 80-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Oulun NMKY. Porvoon Tarmo was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 43-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Demondre Harvey (201-93, college: La-Monroe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and guard Oskari Virolainen (187-93) who added 15 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward B.J. Cardarelli (203, college: S.New Hampshire, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oulun NMKY maintains fourth position in Division with 11-8 record. Loser Porvoon Tarmo dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. Oulun NMKY will have a break next round. Porvoon Tarmo will play at home against Forssan Koripojat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
