Regular Season Round 34: Iwate Big Bulls - Shinshu BW 80-54

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Shinshu BW (10-23) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (9-23) 80-54 on Sunday. Shinshu BW was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) chipped in 13 points and 5 steals during the contest. At the losing side Dutch power forward Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Shinshu BW's coach Ryutaro Onodera already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Iwate Big Bulls maintains sixth position with 9-23 record, which they share with Bambitious Nara. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 23 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face higher ranked Tokyo Excel. (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Dragonflies and hope to win that game.
