Regular Season Round 16: Ylli - Trepca 85-74

Date: January 29, 2017
The game in Suhareke was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Trepca (10-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Ylli (7-8). Ylli defeated Trepca 85-74 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trepca. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Ylli dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Trepca's 44. They outrebounded Trepca 40-21 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ylli looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import Trae Anderson (196, college: E.Illinois) who added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Ylli players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Samir Zekiqi (202-95) responded with 21 points and American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: Prairie View A&M) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Ylli maintains fifth position with 7-8 record. Loser Trepca keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Ylli will meet Rahoveci (#6) in the next round. Trepca will play against the league's second-placed Peja and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
