A very close game took place in Forssa between Forssan Koripojat and Jarvenpaa. Eighth ranked Forssan Koripojat (8-11) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Jarvenpaa (7-11). Forssan Koripojat managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Jarvenpaa won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forssan Koripojat made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Forssan Koripojat had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forssan Koripojat looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Roderick Flemings (203-87, college: Hawaii) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The other American import forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Reed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Leo Tarjanne (189-95) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Four Forssan Koripojat and five Jarvenpaa players scored in double figures. Forssan Koripojat moved-up to sixth place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Forssan Koripojat will meet Porvoon Tarmo (#7) on the road in the next round. Jarvenpaa will play against the league's leader Lahti and hope to secure a win.
