Regular Season Round 18: Scauri - Catanzaro 65-94

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Scauri (8-9) was outplayed at home by ninth ranked Catanzaro (8-9) 94-65 on Sunday. Catanzaro dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Scauri's 32. The best player for the winners was power forward Devil Medizza (198-90) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Lorenzo Monacelli (185-97) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (197-83) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Daniele Mastrangelo (189-91) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively. Five Catanzaro and four Scauri players scored in double figures. Catanzaro moved-up to eighth place in B. Catanzaro will face Viterbo SA (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Scauri will play against Valmontone (#3) and hope to win that game.
