Regular Season Round 16: Vicenza - Civitanova 63-58

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vicenza. Second ranked Vicenza faced 4th ranked Civitanova. Host Vicenza (12-2) defeated guests from Civitanova Marche (10-5) 63-58. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But Civitanova won second period 15-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Brazilian swingman Tayara Madonna (170-91, agency: Players Group) fired 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Irene Pieropan (180-91) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian power forward Kristina Ostojic (190-91) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Margherita Mataloni (172-95) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Vicenza maintains second position in A2 with 12-2 record having five points less than leader Sesto SG. Civitanova at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Vicenza are looking forward to face Palermo (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Civitanova will play against Salerno (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
