Regular Season Round 16: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel Eilat 74-96

12th ranked Maccabi K/G (3-13) was outscored at home by eighth ranked Hapoel Eilat (8-8) with the biggest margin this round 96-74 on Monday night. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi K/G was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Eilat dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi K/G's 26. Hapoel Eilat had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a quality performance of point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Hapoel Eilat and four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Eilat moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Maccabi K/G stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Hapoel Eilat will face Galil Gilboa (#10) in Rosh Pina in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi K/G will play on the road against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and hope to win that game.
