Not a big story in a game in Mar del Plata where 8th ranked Quilmes MP (12-17) was defeated by second ranked Ferrocarril (20-9) 99-88 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrocarril. Quilmes MP was better in fourth quarter 31-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferrocarril dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Quilmes MP's 36 and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Quilmes MP 42-21 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and center Jose Ignacio Alessio (203-87) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was international guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and Enzo Ruiz (193-88, agency: DTMones) scored 17 points. Five Ferrocarril and four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. Ferrocarril have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-9 record having just one point less than leader San Lorenzo. Loser Quilmes MP keeps the eighth place with 17 games lost. Ferrocarril will have a break next round. Quilmes MP will play on the road against Libertad Sunchales (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
