Regular Season Round 16: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Hapoel T-A 86-81

Rather expected game in Hod Hasharon where 5th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (8-8) was defeated by third ranked Bnei Hasharon (10-6) 86-81 on Monday. Hapoel Tel-Aviv trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 26-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-86 at the end of the game. Bnei Hasharon made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Hapoel Tel-Aviv turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and naturalized American Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon maintains third position with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Loser Hapoel Tel-Aviv keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Bnei Hasharon will face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play at home against Maccabi K/G (#12) and hope to win that game.
